55 days. The White Detroit beet is a variety of beet that has been developed to keep from staining during cooking or processing. True to its name, this variety is white with light green stems, but tastes just like other beets. These beets are hardy and can be grown in a number of zones and climates, and can thrive in either full sun or partial shade. Everyone loves beets, but the red ones stain everything. Adding them into many meals such as casseroles or stir-fried dishes can turn the entire dish pink or red. These large white beets do not. Same great flavor and still easy to grow.
